Prompter vs Teleprompter.com

Prompter vs Teleprompter.com: both are iPhone teleprompter apps that can scroll with your voice and record you while you read. Teleprompter.com is a broad, cross-platform product with remotes, captions, cloud storage and team plans. Prompter is a smaller, iPhone-only app built around privacy: no account, no cloud and on-device voice following. We make Prompter, so weigh that. Here is what we found on Teleprompter.com's App Store listing and website, and an honest look at who each app suits.

Prompter is not on the App Store yet. Teleprompter.com is available now.

What Teleprompter.com offers

Teleprompter.com (from Teleprompter LLC) covers a lot of ground. Its voice scrolling, VoiceGlide, pauses when you pause, and the company says it is included free on every plan, works offline on iOS, Android and macOS, and supports 28 localized languages, including right-to-left scripts. Beyond voice, you can scroll at a fixed speed, by time or by words per minute.

The App Store listing mentions remote control from a second device running the app, Apple Watch, Bluetooth keyboards, presentation remotes, game controllers, MIDI controllers and foot pedals. You can import TXT, Word and PDF scripts from cloud services, record with the rear camera, use external USB microphones and supported gimbals, generate subtitles, and stream live. Scripts are stored in the cloud and the same account works across iOS, Android, Mac and the web. Teams can share scripts and recordings in a common workspace.

Pricing on its website: a free Starter plan (recordings carry a watermark), Pro at $19.99/month or $7.50/month billed yearly, Max for heavier use, and per-seat Team plans, at the time of writing (November 2026). App Store prices can differ by region.

What Prompter offers

Prompter is deliberately narrow. It puts your script over the live front camera preview, right under the lens, and records to the Photos library. Auto-scroll is free, and Follow voice is free on your first 3 recordings; Pro makes it unlimited. Follow voice uses Apple's on-device speech recognition in the script's language when iOS supports it on device, including English and Russian. Audio stays on the iPhone, spoken words dim, and the text waits when you pause. Pro also adds mirror mode and clean video without the watermark.

The main difference is privacy by design. Prompter has no account, no server, no cloud copy of your scripts, no ads and no analytics. If you never want a script to leave your phone, that matters. If you want your scripts on several devices, it is a limitation. See all features.
